Project Overview

The Deering Center will primarily serve, but not be limited to, families, churches, individuals, and nonprofit organizations from the states of New England and New York. The center accepts all individuals that agree to abide by the Christian values that the center stands for. The mission of the center is: The Deering Center is a Christian campground and retreat center, open to all. We offer a peaceful country setting and environment of love, respect, and acceptance, where individuals, families and groups can gather and grow personally and spiritually. We are going to live by two main commandments "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind" and "Love your neighbor as yourself."

There is an increasing need for Christian family campgrounds that are affordable as well as year round conference and retreat facilities for churches, schools, nonprofit, and other organizations in New England. The Deering Conference Center (DCC) was a "place of calling" for many individuals who dedicated their lives to ministry and service. DCC offered a unique and powerful spiritual impact for thousands of individuals in its past life. The revitalization of this center is a chance to open doors to people of all ages to celebrate God`s love, and to offer a loving, nurturing, faith filled environment for all kinds of programs.

Today families, youth and young adults are challenged with struggles in a demanding society. The Deering Center will provide a safe place to explore new ways of living their lives. This will enable them to be more open to the Spirit while learning to live a mentally, spiritually, and physically healthy life. We envision a place that is accepting and loving to all, that fosters understanding of differences, and builds relationship with others and with Christ. In addition, The Deering Center will enhance the local Deering community by providing facilities and support for community based projects and programs.
